Within this shoot, I have focused more on the interactions between the family members during everyday tasks. I have also included still life images of objects that is inspired from the project ‘Days with my father’ by Toledano.
I feel that I have captured some good shots of my family within this shoot, especially ones of them talking together (images 1015-1052 and 1070-1202) and within these photographs I do understand that majority of them do look the same however at the time I was focused on the changing facial expressions and body language but I do feel as though some are aesthetically pleasing. I find the ones of where my nana are involved to be more grabbing simply because of expression in each shot.
The images that I like more from this shoot are;
– 955 and 956 as they portray nicely a normal evening/night in the living between my parents and the cat.
– 982 and 983 I like the reflection of what my dad tends to do when looking in the mirror.
– 1012 because it’s a representation of my parents, it’s all they drink everyday.
– 1023-1027, they illustrate typical morning moment between my parents.
– 1045 and 1050-52, showing a discussion occurring within the living room that started between my parents until my brother has to get involved/ be apart of.
– 1065 of the cat as it portrays the cat next to a home sign which in our family is very true, ‘the home is where the cat is’, the home isn’t the same without the cat.
– 1075-76, 1083, 1186-88 as they captivate the various expressions within this conversation that create an engaging image,
– 1226 because it a important and personal photograph of the beginning of a new chapter for my parents.
And with these images I’m going to experiment with them in post production to see which are the stronger images.
